An Open Letter to Keene from the Keene Community Trust
September 6, 2011
We are taking applications for grants from the Keene Flood Recovery Fund. We want to make this as smooth, easy, and painless as possible. Thank you for helping us to help you by filling out this simple application. We will get back to you as quickly as we can. We are all volunteers. Please know we're moving as fast as we can.
Applications can be found at: the Town Hall, the School, the Keene Valley Congregational Church, both libraries and Valley Hardware.
The application can be accessed online via this link. There are also two fact sheets about the Fund that you can access via the Apply for Help link in the main menu, above.
Additional applications can be found at: the Town Hall, the School, the Keene Valley Congregational Church, both libraries and Valley Hardware and many other locations around town.
We prefer you drop off your application, in a sealed envelope, at Town Hall, Keene Central School or the Keene Valley Congregational Church (leave it in the mailbox by the office door if no one is there). The Grant Review Committee will pick up applications at these locations frequently. Alternatively, you can mail it to the Keene Community Trust, PO Box 498, Keene Valley 12943.
You may get a partial grant now. You may get more, and you can apply for more, later. We have to balance needs with funds available. Our funds are like a checkbook we can't overdraw.
We are not a substitute for FEMA. FEMA forms are at the Town Hall in Keene. If you have any insurance, you should contact your company. A denial of coverage will be needed by FEMA, for example.
Bill Ferebee, Cynthia Johnston, Milton Dudley and John Hudson are our referral network. Talk to them, get applications from them, and hand them completed applications.
Yours Truly,
David Mason for the Keene Community Trust dave12942@gmail.com 576-9791
P.S. We can get you help with our application, just ask.
